This exquisite coin from Thailand, minted during the reign of King Phra Chula Chom (Rama V / Chulalongkorn) (1868-1910), is a standard circulation Klao coin from the year 124 (1905) of the Thailand - Rama era calendar. It holds a value of 1 Baht (1), which was the currency from 1869-1897. Note: this coin was minted with a date R.S. 124; these dates began in 1898-9. Coins without specific dates were minted between 1869-1897. Composed of silver, this coin weighs 15 g and has a diameter of 31.5 mm. It is round in shape with coin alignment (↑↓). Though it has been demonetised, its historical value is immense. This coin is referenced in the Standard Thai Coins Catalogue 2019. This collection of coins was part of an exhibition at the Queen Sirikit Textile Museum in Bangkok, where they showcased royal textiles from the Javanese court.
