REG. King Rama VI RARE. Three Elephant Silver Coin, waning moon with the (ฺ่่่') Mai Eck symbol designed like a moon. The "Thai Novice Coins" sold in the markets are larger than the originals and MUST have several differences that are visible to the naked eye or it would be counterfeiting. For example; The text, year, portrait, material etc must be different (See pictures 3-4). Genuine coins; The toes of the elephant shouldn't be straightly conformed, the rim must be reeded and the altar must have a sharp corner under the Thai character ง. The coin must be made of silver and weigh 15 grams. The novice coins are just for fun and MUST be declared as "Thai Novice Coins" vocally and in writing. |
