Drill 1/2" (31/64" For a tight fit - 1/2" is close enough) hole at the back of your plastic can, above the fill line and pop it in gently with a rubber mallet. We suggest you drill a smaller hole (1/8") to start with and then use the 1/2" or (31/64") drill bit. Be sure to drill a straight clean hole, watch for a residue plastic and try and prevent residue from entering the can. The Vent cap needs to sit in tight to give a good leak proof seal.
