This solid wood hand carved statue of Jesus is from France and it dates to the mid-1700's to early 1800's. Note fine details in the face, staff, robe, fingers and toes. The handpainted polychrome finish is worn here and there but still shows its beautiful original colors. Overall this statue is in very good antique condition with minor chips, scratches and discolorations as would be expected on a 200+ year old wood statue. There is also a moderate amount of old, inactive woodworm holes (see photos). Dimensions: 46" tall. |
