Good-Very Good overall antique cond: Very rare. Incrdbly scarce & absltly gorgeous. Hvy, sbstntl brnz-clad ovr plstr, American Arts & Crafts, fig antique pr of clsscl bknds, feat a woman w/linen robe reclining on a huge, crvd oak wdn chair, rsmblng a throne. They're sgnd 'S. Morani, 1914.' There are a few minor breaks or splits of the bronze clad covers, mstly brly noticeable & fnd at the back of 1 bknd & on the baseplate & bottom frnt facia of the othr. These areas were prev hnd clrd to disguise these 'knocks' & damage that occurred to them long ago. The figuration & most imprtntly, the fronts of both bknds are intact & without any noticeable damage. They were rlzd by the Nat'l Metalizing Co NYC, later bcmng the Armor Bronze Co. They're titled 'Silence.' This pr of bronze clad bknds pre-dates Armor's shield cmpny logo fnd mrkd on ltr pcs by the same comp, mkng these prtclrly early & subsequently, very scarce. Now 109 yrs old. Absolutely gorgeous. Beautiful. Outstanding. Very fine. |
