Oversize volume. (10" X 12 1/4") (256pp.) Near fine in beige cloth depicting the features of a woman’s face with flowing white hair forming the word 'Kaliflower' extending around the spine onto the rear cover. Gray paper end papers. Full color throughout. From April 1969 the Sutter Street Commune in San Francisco, imbued with the Digger philosophy, issued a free newspaper to Bay area communes to keep fellow-minded folk informed. Kaliflower was distributed on a weekly basis for 3 years, eventually reaching close to 300 communes. The present volume celebrates this effort. In keeping with Digger philosophy nothing is attributed. The production involved is first rate. Copies seldom come on the market. |
