All pre-opening promotional material for Walt Disney World featured the FLORIDA FLAG (see photos) above the brand new WALT DISNEY WORLD LOGO (Also featuring a WORLD with Mouse Ears inside the D in Walt Disney World). All of the tickets printed for Walt Disney World before they opened on October 1, 1971 featured this awesome FLORIDA FLAG above the Walt Disney World Logo. Legend has it that Disney wanted to differentiate Walt Disney World tickets from Disneyland tickets. That's why the Florida Flag was originally featured prominently in the logo.
