Hand sewn, first fabric in to little 2" circles then each circle (yo-yo) hand stitched in rows then rows hand stitched together, then backed with cotton flannel. Quilt was started with 1950's fabrics then a few 1960's fabric came along and joined in. Appears to all be cotton but, of course, no tags to say for sure. Washes in my large washer and dries in my drier and comes out fluffy and in great shape. Was just washed. Still has a bit of an vintage fragrance from being in closet at Grandma's for many years, could use a day in the sun airing out. The little threads you see are meant to be seen. They're the threads that made the circles and are tied off to be shown. The quilt, coverlet is about 68x77 and shown on a twin bed. Also could be a topper on a queen or a wall hanging, or just for display. It really is a owrk of art! Ther is a 16" x 17" dresser scarf included of 1" yo-yos just as bright and cute as the bigger one. Hoping to find a good home for Grandma's fabric artwork. |
