A comparatively crude collection of prints of antique, maps, paintings & prints with some hand drawn maps illustrating the salient features of the images and maps to the landing of William in 1066, on the shores of Hastings. Revealing the synergistic interplay of the elements of William's carefully orchestrated and planned, highly secretive campaign to invade England. Revealing many aspects of his invasion and how they were interwoven by a military genius, previously never understood because much of the evidence had been washed away by sporadic high tides at his landing site. Below - for the first time in a 1000 years I un-pick & deconstruct his invasion and reassemble it to demonstrate how and why it occurred and what a great achievement it was - the same feat attempted in 1796 and 1797 by the French and by the Spanish Armada and failing despite their 500 years of advanced technology. Perhaps they would have succeeded had they had this knowledge as revealed for the first time. |
