This is a great looking vintage US Naval officers dress sword featuring a brass wire wrapped sharks skin grip with a nicely, detailed reticulated, brass hand guard with a dolphin figure where it attaches to the Eagle decorated pommel cap. Overall, an outstanding condition with an etched blade on both sides. Original leather and brass scabbard in solid condition. Marked on the sword and the sword case by Hilborn and hamburger Incorporated, New York. Likely dating to the WW two era or Korean war. Gold sword is in good condition. Overall, a beautiful sword that deserves to be on display. 32 inches in the scabbard with a 26 inch blade. |
